A Message from the News Director

"Valparaiso University Television operates under the principle that a well-informed community is a strong one."

-VUTV Mission Statement

Our committment to keeping our community informed drives everything we do at VUTV. As we continue to build talent and skills that make our operations reflect those of a small market television station, VUTV News remains our campus's one and only broadcast television news source. That being said, we are interested in telling the stories and promoting the events that make our school so special. We cover news affecting and concerning all student groups, university departments & operations, as well as international locations.

At the same time, our role as a college news source requires us to intervene in times of trouble for our community. We ask tough questions to get our students, faculty, and staff answers to the challenges and situations that provoke debate and thoughtful questions on our campus.

VUTV News plans to take an active role when we can celebrate the many accomplishments of our students and faculty. And we will be right there when our community is put to the test whether in response to an emergency or in a spirit of intelligent debate.

If you are interested in joining our team, please stop by one of our news staff meetings or send an email to
