Welcome Desk

The Union Welcome Desk offers a variety of services to assist the University community and the general public during their time at Valpo. In addition to general event information, some of the services offered are:

  • University Ticket Sales for nonathletic and non-theater events
  • On – and off-campus phone numbers
  • Current magazine and newspaper checkout
  • Train and bus schedules
  • Union Lost and Found

Mail Center

The Student Mail Center is located on the first floor of the Harre Union. This is where all students, living on-campus, have their mail delivered. If you have shipping needs while you are here visiting, please visit the mail center and they will be able to assist you getting your items mailed out. If you need to ship items to the Harre Union before your event please coordinate and work with our staff beforehand, so we can ensure someone is here to receive it and there is a place to store it.

Audiovisual Equipment

A wide variety of AV equipment is on hand to meet your technology needs, from document cameras and videoconferencing to ceiling-mounted projectors and wireless microphones. See the AV equipment page for a complete listing.

Wireless Internet Access

Guests of the Harre Union have complimentary access to our wireless Internet service. Stop by the Welcome Desk with a photo ID to set up a guest account.

ATM

An ATM is located at the north end of the Union’s first floor, across from the Campus Café.

Security Officers

Large events requiring security personnel will be staffed by the Valparaiso University Police Department for an hourly rate. Inquire for more details.

Loading Dock/Freight Elevator

To assist with the transportation of heavy equipment and supplies, a dual-bay loading dock with a lift is located on the north side of the building. The loading dock also is conveniently located near the freight elevator, which services the second floor in close proximity to the meeting rooms.

Coatroom

For your convenience, a coatroom is available to hold coats and other belongings. This area may be staffed by one of your group members or by Union personnel for a fee and may be locked upon request.

Green Room

A Green Room with a mirror, dressing table, and lounge seating is located in the back of the house area. This room serves as a great waiting area for entertainers or for a wedding party preparing for a ceremony or reception.
