The 36th Annual Valparaiso University Jazz Festival

The 2022 Jazz Festival will take place from April 5, 2022 – April 8, 2022.

High School performances and workshop presentations by guest artists are FREE.

Tuesday, April 5

4:30 p.m. – Kankakee Valley High School Jazz Ensemble performance

5:00 p.m. – Morgan Township High School Jazz Ensemble performance

5:30 p.m. – Lowell High School Jazz Ensemble performance

6:15 p.m. – Workshop presentations by Brent Griffin (alto saxophone), Bob Palmieri (guitar) and Tim Coffman (trombone)

7:30 p.m. – concert performance featuring the Valparaiso University Jazz Ensemble, w/guest Jazz Artists Brent Griffin (alto saxophone), Bob Palmieri (guitar), Tim Coffman (trombone); The “Band Director’s Big Band”

Wednesday, April 6

5:00 p.m. – Washington High School Jazz Ensemble performance

5:30 p.m. – Valparaiso High School Jazz Ensemble performance

6:15 p.m. – Workshop presentations by members of Bob Lark’s ALUMNI BIG BAND.

7:30 p.m. – concert performance featuring the Valparaiso Jazz Combo w/student Jazz Vocalists; BOB LARK and his ALUMNI BIG BAND

Thursday, April 7

5:00 p.m. – Portage High School Jazz Ensemble II performance

5:30 p.m. – Portage High School Jazz Ensemble I performance

6:15 p.m. –Workshop presentations by members of The Bob Lark Jazz Septet

7:30 p.m. – concert performance featuring the Valparaiso University Jazz Ensemble and The Bob Lark Jazz Septet

Friday, April 8

4:00 p.m. – VALPO “Reunion” Jazz Ensemble rehearsal

5:30 p.m. – Kouts High School Jazz Ensemble performance

6:15 p.m. – Workshop presentations by members of Bob Lark’s ALUMNI BIG BAND

*6:30 p.m. – “Friends of Jazz” Reception

*7:30 p.m. – concert performance featuring the VALPO “Reunion” Jazz Ensemble; BOB LARK and his ALUMNI BIG BAND
