We are so excited to welcome family & friends to campus for Family Weekend 2019 taking place Friday, October 25 – Sunday, October 27! There will be signature events throughout the weekend and many more that families can choose to attend. Please see below for all the events that all families are invited to participate in. We will also include local places your family can visit while in town to have some quality time together!

9:00 AM (check-in begins at 8:45 AM): 6th Annual Dance Marathon FT5K Fun Run
Join students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents for the annual Dance Marathon FT5K. This “Miles for Miracles” run is a great exploration of campus while raising funds to support the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago! On-site registration is $15 and this includes breakfast and a t-shirt for the first 100 runners that check-in.

1:00 PM: Dance Marathon Family Weekend Silent Auction | Brown Field
The annual Dance Marathon Family Weekend Silent Auction is an event that takes place during the home football game. All proceeds from the silent auction support the Dance Marathon Program and the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago!
4:00 PM: Chamber Concert Band Concert | Chapel of the Resurrection
The Valparaiso University Chamber Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey S. Doebler. Free Admission
6:00 PM: Haunted Science Lab | Center for the Sciences
This public open house event features some hands-on science displays and demos. VU students from several departments will be on hand to share surprising, startling, and sometimes creepy and slimy science. You are welcome to come in costume. Fun for children ages 0 to 99+.
7:30 PM: Luce Band and Community\University Band Concert | Chapel of the Resurrection
The Luce Concert Band and the Community\University Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey S. Doebler. Free Admission
