Main Campus Acquisition Anniversary

HISTORY

This year marked the 75th anniversary of the Lutheran University Association’s purchase of the major portion of the land that now comprises Valpo’s main campus. This purchase included land south of Union Street extending to U.S. 30 and east of McIntyre Court, plus north of Union Street extended at Sturdy Road. The remainder of the land north of Union Street was acquired gradually throughout the next 49 years. Enough land south of McIntyre Court was purchased to create the site for both Guild and Memorial Halls.
