Valpo’s German program offers generous scholarships.

  • You should apply for a World Languages and Cultures Scholarship during your senior year of high school ($1,000, renewable each year for a total of $4,000). Interested students are strongly encouraged to apply before December 1 for admission to the university.
  • The Professor Carol Petersen Scholarship is awarded every year to an incoming student majoring in French or German ($1,000, freshman year only). Students are nominated for these scholarships.
  • German majors who study abroad in Tübingen or Rottenburg are considered for a Henry and June Giebel Study Abroad Scholarship.
  • Valpo German students may apply for a variety of other scholarships through organizations such as the DAAD, the state of Baden-Württemberg, and the National German Honorary Society (Delta Phi Alpha).
