Twitter Alert
Please consider subscribing to the Valpo Twitter Alert feed as an effective way to quickly get emergency information during a crisis. Our emergency notifications are instantly fed to the Twitter alert so you will receive updates almost immediately on your mobile phone. Because the message is limited to 140 characters on Twitter you may receive multiple texts providing complete information.
- To sign up for the Valpo Alert Twitter Feed you’ll need to set up a Twitter account. This is very simple to do. Just follow the steps below and you’ll be tweeting in no time. If you only want to use Twitter to receive notifications for Valpo Alerts that is completely fine but you will still need to create an account to do this.
- Go to Twitter.com and create a user name and password and follow the instructions on the home screen.
- Once you are logged into Twitter, search for Valpoalert in the Search box at the top of the screen, when you see it come up, check Follow
Once you are subscribed to the Valpo Alert, you’ll have to update your Notifications page to ensure that future posts to Valpo Alert will come to your mobile phone. To do this, under your login name, click Settings, then Mobile and input your cell phone number and follow the instructions. You will receive a text on your cell phone telling you’ve been verified and will now receive notifications from Twitter.
