Valparaiso University graduates will celebrate Commencement on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Athletic-Recreation Center (ARC). Students from the College of Business and College of Arts and Sciences will have their ceremony at 9 a.m., and those from the College of Engineering and College of Nursing and Health Care Professions will begin their ceremony at 2 p.m.

“It is our honor and privilege to be with these students as they celebrate their accomplishments,” José D. Padilla J.D., president of the University, said. “Though they may be leaving campus, they will always be members of the Valpo family, and we’ll be with them wherever they take their talent and leadership.”

United States Senator Todd Young will serve as the speaker for both ceremonies, recognizing the value that these young professionals will bring to both Northwest Indiana and the world at large.

“Valparaiso University is a great asset for the state of Indiana, producing graduates who are prepared to be leaders in the workforce and in their communities,” said Senator Young.

Other speakers at the event will include communication major Jillian Seeger ’24 and business administration major Jaylen Jude ’24 at the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Business ceremonies, as well as bioengineering major Lauren Kadlec ’24 and health science major Amanda Bauer ’24 speaking for the College of Nursing and Health Professions and College of Engineering ceremonies.

The University will have nearly 600 students receiving undergraduate degrees, with 250 graduate students walking across the stage over the course of the two ceremonies.
