Why Astronomy at Valpo?

Valpo has one of the few undergraduate-focused Astronomy programs in the area. At Valpo, you get to follow your passion for space, diving deeply into the field, while being supported by a close-knit student community and direct faculty access. You will learn how to operate our 16-inch on-campus observatory, remotely use our telescopes in Arizona, Chile, and the Canary Islands, and analyze data from the Hubble Space Teleschope and other major telescopes around (and orbiting) the world. You can develop your own astronomy research project as a senior capstone experience, and you can do paid summer research with faculty.
