Why Criminology at Valpo?

The Criminology Concentration at Valpo offers students a strong foundation in Sociology with the additional benefit of developing specialized knowledge of criminal justice system operations and criminological theory. Owing to our strong relationships with local, state, and federal agencies, Criminology students benefit from hands on learning, networking, and skill building within criminal justice settings, which are predicted to expand in the next several decades. With access to experiential learning opportunities, mentorship, and experts in the field, Valpo Criminology students acquire practical, applied, and generalizable skills inside and outside of the classroom, allowing them to problem solve and think critically about one of the most enduring social problems we face…crime.
