First Year Law Students

Scholarships are offered to selected full-time JD applicants at the same time that they are offered admission to Valparaiso University Law School. Students do not need to complete a separate scholarship application to be considered for and offered a scholarship.  Since scholarship funds are limited, applicants are encouraged to submit their complete application for admission by March 15 to be assured of scholarship consideration.

Valparaiso Law merit scholarships can cover all 3 years of  law school in amounts that vary up to the full cost of tuition. The Scholarship Committee considers a variety of factors including academic achievement, an individual’s work, leadership, and service experiences as well as other meritorious accomplishments. Scholarships are renewed after the end of each academic year as long as the student remains full-time, maintains the required cumulative GPA as noted in their scholarship award offer letter, and is in good standing at the Law School.
