THE ELEVATOR PITCH

Be prepared!  The elevator pitch gets its name from the short ride in an elevator, so keeping with that concept; it needs to be brief and concise. At best, it should be two to three sentences and take less than thirty seconds to deliver. Remember that not all elevator rides are long. Your goal should be to explain what you do as it relates to the individual you are addressing, if possible.  This is also useful when interviewing with an employer, if he/she asks, “Tell me about yourself.”  See article below: http://www.americanbar.org/publications/young_lawyer/2012-13/july_august_2013_vol_17_no_9/are_you_ready_for_the_chance_of_a_lifetime.html
