Estate Planning CLE, Charity Drive & YLS Monthly Mixer
This event will take place on Thursday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m., at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Valparaiso (upstairs gathering room). The free one hour CLE, “The Basics of Special Needs Trusts and Estate Planning”, will be presented by PCBA President, Alissa Kohlhoff. Please bring a donation (laundry detergent, canned goods, paper products, cleaning supplies, other necessary pantry items or $25 cash donation) for Housing Opportunities. Distinguished Alumni Speaker
Tammy Somers ’01, Deputy Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division Office of the Indiana Attorney General. Ms. Somers will be giving a presentation Monday, March 25, 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., in Ulbricht Classroom. Following the presentation, Ms. Somers will be visiting Professor Huss’ Animal Law Class 11:45 a.m. – 12:40 p.m., for more in-depth discussion on her work with Puppy Mills.
Selected Career Highlights:
*Mrs. Somers first case involved a puppy mill. Two months later, the combined efforts of the OAK and the Dept. of Revenue shut down the mill and removed 74 dogs and four horses. Since then she has worked on many cases involving animals.
*Somers is currently a member of the Indiana State Bar Association Leadership Development Academy, Class II.
