Public Interest Internship with Summer Public Interest Stipend Funding (SPIS) –
If a student is selected for a public interest position, the student can apply for Summer Public Interest Stipend funding provided the summer public interest employer is not one of Valparaiso Law’s approved externship employers. Students may not count the paid hours of the public interest position towards the pro bono requirement. However, after the paid hours have been completed, students may use remaining hours to earn pro bono service credit towards graduation.
If you have any questions about these terms and policies or what type of position is best for you, please contact the Career Planning Center. Please submit your application to Robyn Rucker in the Career Planning Center Suite, room 131.
Applications for Summer Public Interest Stipend funding are due Friday, April 12, 2013 by 5:00 p.m.
