Professor Rittger's Latest Book

Professor Ron Rittgers’ latest book, “The Reformation of Suffering: Pastoral Theology and Lay Piety in Late Medieval and Early Modern Germany”, came out in July 2012 with Oxford University Press. The book has been exceptionally well received. Professor Rittgers holds the Erich Markel Chair in German Reformation Studies. His first book, published in 2004 with Harvard University Press, is “The Reformation of the Keys: Confession, Conscience, and Authority in Sixteenth-Century Germany”
