MST faculty active at Mathfest
Faculty from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics were active at Mathfest, the annual summer meeting of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), held July 26-29 in Chicago.
Assistant Professor Mindy Capaldi and Associate Provost Rick Gillman participated in a workshop entitled “Fostering Innovation in Mathematics Programs”.
Gillman also organized a panel session on “Reflections on Departmental Self-Studies and Reviews” and attended the meeting of Committee on the Undergraduate Program in Mathematics.
Associate Professor Ken Luther participated in the SIGMAA (special interest group of the MAA) on using web technology in classrooms.
Associate Professor Lara Pudwell participated in the section officers’ meeting as the vice chair of the Indiana Section of the MAA.
Assistant Professor Karl Schmitt co-organized the panel session “Math for Computing? Computing for Math? A Discussion of Inter-dependencies”.
Professor Zsuzsanna Szaniszlo presented the paper “L(4)-Labellings of Trees”.
Associate Professor Melissa Desjarlais also attended the conference.
