Experiential Learning
Close student-faculty interaction, teaching excellence, and extensive in-field experience characterize Valpo’s meteorology program. Throughout its 25 years, the program has grown in size and impact, due in large part to its experiential learning opportunities. Meteorology students immerse themselves in an abundance of real-world experiences in the field and prepare for successful careers.

As featured in Inside Indiana Business, more than $1.1 million from the estate of Dale Kempf ’62 will support faculty development funds in the College of Engineering.
Dave Cecchini, head coach of Valpo’s football team, earned Coach of the Year honors from the Pioneer Football League after leading the Crusaders to a third-place finish in the PFL and their first winning season since 2003.
Calling on his experience as a student director at Valpo, Stefan Roseen ’15 formed the Imposters Theatre Company with a group of Valpo alumni. Stefan is now founder and artistic director of the company, which aims to challenge, create, and coalesce with their audiences.

Arts and Culture
The Brauer Museum of Art offers a unique opportunity to view world-class art in Northwest Indiana. This fall, a centenary exhibition celebrates 100 years since the Dunes Pageant of 1917, showcasing the landscape of the Indiana Dunes through more than 55 works by Midwest artist Frank V. Dudley.
Faculty Scholars
Professors Matthew Becker and Alex Capaldi are recipients of 2018–2019 Wheat Ridge Ministries–O.P. Kretzmann Fund grants for Research in the Healing Arts and Sciences. These grants support advanced, innovative research that contributes to the health care industry.
STEM fields are projected to grow twice as fast as other fields. And at Valpo, students have access to the state-of-the-art scientific equipment found at large research institutions — as early as their freshman year.
