  • Regional water quality assessments
  • Medical missions
  • Stream restoration
  • Fish habitat restoration
  • Ecological monitoring for local parks and wildlife areas

OFF-CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES

Biology students are welcome to participate in any of Valpo’s 25 study abroad programs, and many of those opportunities include focused experiential learning opportunities.

  • Internships are included in 12 of the semester and year-long programs
  • Most programs include a service learning component

BIOLOGY CLUB COBUS CREEK CLEANUP

About half of Valpo’s students participate in community service annually, logging more than 90,000 hours of service per academic year. Biology students have many opportunities to apply their knowledge through service to our community, locally and globally.
