Open Discussion with Merle Heckman, HR Manager, Emerson
Merle Heckman

I enjoyed so much meeting you and meeting with the students. Here is the brief advice I have...

1) Network with others - get the word out about you by connecting with others - remember some of the best jobs are not advertised.

2) When you interview, be confident but not cocky. Your confidence comes from preparation now, participating in mock interviews, studying the company, and reviewing for the tough questions.

3) Send a thank you note after the interview. It helps to distinguish you from the others. That seems so little, but it is a great idea to help.
