Equipment Loan Service

The Christopher Center houses a small collection of presentation media that may be borrowed by individuals for use off campus. Most academic buildings house presentation equipment, which is provided and maintained by EIS. Verify the availability of classroom equipment before you decide to borrow equipment from the library for use on campus.

Location: Christopher Center, first floor, at the Circulation & Electronic Services Desk across from the elevator.

Hours: Equipment loans can be made only when the Christopher Center is open. We ask that equipment be picked up 30 minutes prior to closing. Returns may be made at all time the Center is open.

Eligible Users: Current faculty, staff and students of Valparaiso University. Some equipment will not be loaned to students. Students needing "faculty only" equipment for course presentations must consult with their professor. The equipment will be checked out to the professor teaching that course and who assumes full responsibility for the equipment.

To Reserve: Call 464-5774 to make your reservation. Reservations are recommended.

To Borrow: Borrowers present their barcoded Valparaiso University ID at the Circulation & Electronic Services Desk to obtain the equipment. The equipment must be returned during open hours at the Christopher Center. Do not return equipment at the Main Circulation Desk. Borrowers will assume the full cost of replacement for equipment not returned. Damage fees will be assessed if the equipment is returned in disrepair.

Loan Period: 3 days for all equipment.

Charges: Late return fine is $25 per day. Any damage to equipment, cosmetic or mechanical, is the cost of parts or replacement.

Equipment: Equipment inventory fluctuates depending on repair status.
