About

Jennifer Easthope joined the College of Nursing and Health Professions in 2023 and serves as an academic advisor for students in the Healthcare Leadership, Health Science, Public Health, and Physician Assistant programs. She has been part of the Valparaiso University community since 2012, with previous roles in the College of Arts & Sciences, the Office of the Provost, and Enrollment Management.

Jennifer has taught GS 100 Strategies for Academic Success at Valpo and incorporates those principles into her advising, with a particular focus on supporting first-year students as they transition to college. She also teaches IPE 390/590 Healthcare in Ireland, a course that includes a spring break travel experience—one of her favorite ways to connect with students outside the classroom. In her advising, Jennifer is committed to building meaningful relationships and supporting students’ personal growth, self-discovery, and persistence through graduation.

Jennifer holds a master’s degree in Digital Media from Valparaiso University (Go Beacons!) and a bachelor’s degree in Arts & Humanities from Indiana University—though she still considers herself a Boilermaker at heart (Boiler Up!). She is a member of NACADA, Valparaiso University’s Council of Academic Advisors, and the Student Success Advisory Team. She has completed training in Safe Zone, Mental Health First Aid, and Search Process Advocacy.
