About

Timothy Leitzke has taught at VU in some capacity or another since 2022. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Theology from what was then the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (now United Lutheran Seminary), and has published articles on liturgy, homiletics, and theology. An ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, his research interests usually coincide with the practice of being a person of faith. These include communities that worship both online and in person, the ways communities of faith deal with problematic ancestors in their faith traditions, trauma theory, and how well early modern doctrines hold up in the 21st Century.

Outside of Valparaiso University, he is the Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Valparaiso, and the Convener of the Homiletics Seminar of the North American Academy of Liturgy.
