Connecting Campus and Community

We are Valpo

Valparaiso University is proud to be part of the greater Valparaiso community. The shops, restaurants, opportunities, and, most importantly, the people of Valparaiso play a vital role in helping us create a college experience our students can be proud of. That’s why we’re always excited to open our campus to the community with sports, shows, and events that let you enjoy the Valpo experience with us. Check out what’s happening around campus below.

Exploring Faith

Valparaiso University prides itself on its status as a premiere Lutheran institution, as well as being a space for all faiths to come together in celebration and dialogue. Members of the community are welcome to a variety of prayer events, services and discussions. Find out how you can explore your faith with Valparaiso University.

There are eight services a week, open to all, when classes are in session from August through May. Worship with us this Sunday morning at 10 a.m. And learn about upcoming Sundays.

All services at the Chapel of the Resurrection can be viewed at the Valpo Chapel YouTube page.

Our Community, Our Experience

Valpo works hard to give back to our community because our community gives so much to Valpo. Getting away from campus to hang out at cafés, shop at boutiques, or experience all the wonderful things Valparaiso has to offer is a major part of what makes coming to Valparaiso University an experience that lasts a lifetime. Vicki Arevalo ’23 shared what she loves about the community in this segment of Amazon’s The College Tour.
