Leadership Development Minor

The interdisciplinary, undergraduate minor in Leadership Development will provide students with the opportunity to develop leadership knowledge and prepare for leadership experiences. The minor is structured to include four required foundational courses and two additional electives, for a total of 15 credits.

The Student Learning Outcomes for the Leadership Development Minor include:

  • Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills of core leadership competencies required for effective leaders.
  • Students will engage in personal leadership development by examining their personal leadership styles and recognizing differences in others.
  • Students will increase their leadership capacity by applying leadership concepts to interpersonal contexts within teams and organizations.
  • Students will increase their leadership capacity examining change processes and the impact of culture in effecting systemic change in organizations and communities.
