Get Involved

Explore the abundance of extracurricular opportunities that make up the Valpo community.

Opportunity surrounds you every day at Valpo to participate in hundreds of activities. Your university should feel like home, and our campus is just the right size to make that happen. Cheer for your friends in Division I athletics, join one of the groups based in the campus union, and attend an abundance of art and cultural events. At Valpo, you really can do it all.

You aren’t the type to sit around, and neither is Valpo, with events being held every day.

There is never a dull moment at Valpo with organizations always hosting events. Whether it’s a special showing at the Brauer Museum of Art, a basketball game, or one of the fantastic events hosted by the University Programming Council, you will find the events that not only entertain but help you grow.

Student Groups

Find your passions outside the classroom in one or more of Valpo’s many student groups.

You will be able to find the groups for you with more than 100 student clubs and organizations. Groups have a shared community space in the Harre Union in the Student Organization Suite. And if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, you can create a new organization in Valpo’s vibrant and supportive community.

Join the legacy of some of the most storied Fraternity and Sorority organizations at Valpo.

Joining a Fraternity or Sorority is one of the many great decisions you can make at Valpo. Students find lifelong friends as well as leadership and community service opportunities within each of Valpo’s ten fraternities and seven sororities. With so many outstanding options, you’re sure to find the organization that’s right for you.

Fraternities and sororities are governed by the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council. Most fraternities have their own residences, while sororities are housed in the brand-new Sorority Housing Complex.

Located at the heart of campus, the Harre Union is the place to be for campus involvement.

The host of dining options such as Founders Table and the Bell and Beacon, the Harre Union is also the home to Student Senate, University Programming Council, and student organizations with its 24-hour Student Organization Suite. Add to all of that its many lounges and recreational center, and it’s clear the Harre Union is the place to be.
