As the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Officer (RO), Janice is responsible for university compliance for the F-1 student visa program and the J-1 student and scholar visa program. She oversees all operations of International Students and Scholars at OIP and coordinates the H-1B and other work visa processing for the hiring of International faculty and staff.
Janice holds a M.A. in Arts Administration from Indiana University-Bloomington and has a B.A. in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining Valpo in 2009, she worked in the international office at Purdue University-West Lafayette and Butler University.
Janice was born and raised in Hong Kong and came to the U.S. as an international student. She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. She encourages international students to seek the balance to stay close to their own culture and to connect with the American culture.
