Biography

Jeanne Brown has taught part-time in the psychology department since 1991. She currently teaches and coordinates the Psychology Internship.  She has served as the counselor training director and has taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses. She provides psychotherapy and assessment in a private practice. She volunteers disaster mental health services for local, state and national disasters, with the Red Cross and Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.  She helps debrief first responders with the Critical Incident Stress Management team for Northwest Indiana.  Family therapy and assessment are her other main interests. She is active with her United Methodist Church, local schools, and community groups. She is married to Jim Nelson (also a faculty member of the psychology department).  They enjoy their two children and a dog and cat.
