About
Michael Chikeleze teaches leadership, business law, and business ethics courses with an emphasis on ethical decision-making. His scholarly work has been published in academic journals and presented at conferences across the United States, including the Journal of Leadership Education, the Journal of Values-Based Leadership, and the Journal of Leadership Studies. Before joining the faculty at Valparaiso University, Michael taught leadership at Louisiana State University and Xavier University in Cincinnati.
Based on his experiences, Professor Chikeleze has created a leadership development minor with four required courses for aspiring leaders. The minor is open to all students regardless of skill level. Leadership Foundations (LEAD 200) covers the theories, principles, and concepts of leadership and the impact of values-based decision-making. Personal Leadership Development (LEAD 210) focuses on individual leadership styles, tendencies, and strengths. Team & Organizational Leadership (LEAD 300) examines the role of the individual in group and organizational dynamics. Community, Culture, & Change Leadership (LEAD 310) centers on understanding leadership within the community. Students will choose one additional course from their major to complete the minor.
