Biography

Professor Li teaches in the undergraduate and graduate Public Health programs as well as the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. She holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and a Master of Public Health, and is certified in Public Health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.

Her research primarily focuses on the epidemiology of chronic diseases, with an emphasis on the social and environmental determinants of health, health disparities, and health services research. A significant component of her work involves studying children from economically disadvantaged families affected by respiratory diseases. Specifically, her research examines how social and environmental factors shape health outcomes related to asthma, sleep health, academic performance, and quality of life.

Professor Li’s research has been disseminated widely through publications in respected peer-reviewed journals, including Sleep Medicine, Clinical and Experimental Allergy, Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Academic Pediatrics. She is also actively engaged in advancing the field of public health through conference presentations, collaborative research initiatives, and mentorship of students and emerging scholars.

Beyond her research, Professor Li is an active and committed member of the professional public health community. She holds memberships in the American Public Health Association, the Society for Epidemiologic Research, the Association of Public Health Nurses, and the International Society for Quality of Life Research.
