Esports at Valpo

Join the competitive gaming community that has expanded to over 500 college and universities. Valpo’s Esports Program competes nationwide, including in the Division 1 Missouri Valley Conference, the National Esports Collegiate Conference, and the Great Lakes Esports Conference! By being a member of the program, you’ll have access to a dedicated Esports lab, wear a jersey that represents the Brown and Gold, and compete in League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, Overwatch, or iRacing for Valparaiso University.

Youth Programming

Parties and Summer Camps

Video game party? Game on! Is your child interested in having a video game party? Let the Valpo Esports Lab host your party and take care of all of your child’s gaming needs.

Please Note: Parental supervision is required as access to gaming accounts (username, password) may be needed to play certain games.

Valpo Esports summer camps are an introduction to competitive Esports. All camps are led by players, coaches, and staff of the Esports program at Valparaiso University. The Valpo Esports program competes nationally in a variety of games, including, Valorant, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, and iRacing.

Video Game Parties

$150 – 2-hour party (max 20 attendees)

$200 – 3-hour party (max 20 attendees)

Deposit: A $75 deposit is required to hold the party date/time. The remaining balance is due by the start of the party.

Esports Lab Access – Enjoy 2-3 hours of gaming in the Valpo Esports Lab.

Gaming Options – Play on PC or Console (Switch, Nintendo Wii). Bringing your own console? Let us know in advance!

On-Site Assistance – 1-2 staff members will be available to assist.

Game Selection – Choose up to 6 games from our list:

  • PC Games:
    Minecraft (must own account), Rocket League, Fortnite, Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Valorant, Among Us (must own account), Fall Guys, Overwatch 2Marvel Rivals, & Clash Royale
  • Console Games:
    Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Mario Party, Minecraft, Nintendo Switch Sports, Jackbox, Overcooked, & Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Special Appearance (Subject to availability) – Request a visit from Blaze or Beacon, the official Valparaiso University mascots (+ $30).

Food and Drink Options – Available for purchase (additional costs apply).

Note: Food, drinks, and gum are NOT allowed in the main gaming area. A designated eating and kitchen area is available.

Outside catering is prohibited on campus. You may order catering from Valparaiso University Catering. Please notify our staff if you would like to order catering as we will place the order for you and handle all pick up/drop off.

  • You may bring cake, cupcakes, ice cream, and goody bags.

Decorations must be pre-approved and placed in designated areas.

  • No glitter or confetti.
  • All decorations must be removed after the event (or a $35 cleaning fee will apply).

Summer Camps

Valpo Esports summer camps are an introduction to competitive Esports. All camps are led by players, coaches, and staff of the Esports program at Valparaiso University. The Valpo Esports program competes nationally in a variety of games, including, Valorant, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, and iRacing.

Camp goal: Create an engaging and informative college esports camp to help aspiring players improve their skills and explore opportunities in the competitive gaming world. Educational topics covered include streaming, physical and mental wellness in gaming, learning the collegiate competitive esports landscape, VOD review and analysis, hardware and setup, mental fortitude and sportsmanship, and much more.

Dates of Camp: Summer 2026 Dates Announced in March 2026

Times of Camp: 8:30a-5:30p (sample schedule below)

Grades: Campers entering 7th – 12th grade in the Fall of 2026

Cost: $160; includes t-shirt, lanyard, lunch, and admission into camp for three days
