Located in Valparaiso, Indiana near the southern tip of Lake Michigan, our department at VU is home to the interrelated disciplines of Geography, Meteorology, and Geoscience. We are also home to Geology, American Indian Studies, and participate in the Urban Studies program. Our students receive rigorous instruction in the classroom, participate in exciting student organizations, and gain hands-on experience through field experiences and internships. Students might find themselves chasing down a storm in the corn fields of Iowa, hiking up a mountain in Yellowstone, or looking out on Lake Michigan from the top of a dune in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
