For over 120 years, the American Sociological Association (ASA) has served as the national professional membership association for sociologists and those interested in sociology. The ASA fosters a diverse and inclusive community of sociologists to advance the discipline, increase public knowledge and understanding, and drive positive social change through sociological insight.

Valpo social science faculty and students participate in the Indiana Academy of Social Sciences, which offers opportunities for students to present research papers and posters at its annual meeting. The conference is being held at Valparaiso University in October 2026.
