The 15th Annual Great Lakes Meteorology Conference, sponsored by the Northwest Indiana Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, was held on a cool April Saturday. Watch for information on the 16th Annual Great Lakes Meteorology Conference in March 2018.
The conference features speakers from many diverse meteorological fields, including broadcasting, aviation, emergency management operations, the National Weather Service, severe weather research, and, of course, Great Lakes meteorology research, forecasting, and history. This conference also provides great networking opportunities with the speakers, as well as the other agencies in attendance. The conference is supported in part by the University Student Senate. A one-day event, doors open at 9 a.m. and concludes no later than 7 p.m. The registration fee includes lunch and dinner. It is open to any student, faculty, industry representative, or meteorologically minded individual.
