What are you hoping to accomplish and or offer to GSAC?
I hope to build strong relationships with every member of GSAC, as well as other students so that I can also learn cultures, norms and values of people belonging to different nation and the students of different majors so that I too can learn something new and productive. I want to be the mediator between other graduate students and GSAC members. I strongly want to participate in the events organized by GSAC and lead the group as well.
What are four expectations that you have of this council?
- To learn new skills and, specifically, enhance my communication skill
- To have a greater link and big group of friends
- To participate and lead different programs organized by the University as a member of GSAC
- Be positive, think positive
How do you plan to represent graduate students on GSAC?
I am planning to be a voice of my classmates initially then broadly would love to communicate and take views from every student from different programs. I basically want to be the mediator between the Graduate Student Advisory Council and the graduate students.
What led to your decision to become a graduate student at Valpo?
I joined 2 or 3 online sessions of Valpo where I feel I can easily communicate and interact personally with my professors regarding any academic problems. The major I am doing is International Economics and Finance which is STEM designated; I can utilize my 3 years in OPT after my graduation. Further, I must include I really liked the surrounding peaceful environment.
What is one interesting fact about yourself?
I won a dance competition as well as a handwriting competition when I was in school. I was a national level Korf ball player. I am a good cook as well.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is chicken momo which is quite famous in Nepal and Tibet. I also like typical Nepali thali which includes varieties of dishes.
