Spanish for Health Care

Practice your Spanish with a purpose

The Spanish for Health Care Interest Group is designed specifically for undergraduate students studying health care. The group was first offered in 2022-2023, and will continue this coming year. Spanish for Health Care is expertly led by two CONHP students, Mariah and Olivia, pictured here. These student leaders are both Spanish minors and have extensive experience tutoring in the LRC.

In this group, students explore a variety of health-care related topics through hands-on practice. Participants will:

  • Study medical terminology in Spanish, such as anatomy terms
  • Study and practice conversation models for patient interactions
  • Make connections with peers who are interested in improving their Spanish

This informal study group meets weekly and is open to beginner as well as intermediate to advanced learners of Spanish. You don’t have to be taking a Valpo Spanish class to participate!
