Majors and Minors

The study of politics focuses on the values that humans should seek and the particular legal and structural organizations that allow people to realize their desired values. Our contemporary approach combines this concern for normative issues with particular attention given to scientific procedures, and empirical and quantitative methodology.

Political Science

Students who choose the political science major can concentrate in three separate areas: general political science, legal studies, or public policy and public administration.

International Relations

Students who select the international relations major can choose from courses focusing on international relations and international law, foreign policy, industrialized countries, developing states, Latin America, East Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Minors

A minimum of 18 credit hours in political science or international relations constitutes a minor. There are two options for obtaining a minor in political science or international relations.
