Mark Volpatti

Vice President for Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the Board of Directors

Mark C. Volpatti, Ed.D., CPA, is vice president for finance at Valparaiso University. In this role, he serves as the University’s chief financial officer and treasurer. Volpatti also provides leadership and support to Valpo’s business and financial operations, facilities management, and property development.

Prior to joining Valparaiso University, Volpatti was associate vice chancellor within the Division of Finance and Administration at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). In this role, he was responsible for the strategic direction and daily operations of the campus’s auxiliary units. Volpatti has worked in various academic and support units during his time with IUPUI: chief operating officer for an extension campus, director of finance and administration for a central administration division, and administrative director for the faculty development department.

Prior to working with the university, Volpatti was employed with Steak’n Shake, Inc. as an accountant and with Macy’s Department Stores as a senior manager. Volpatti earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Education in business administration, accounting, and higher education administration, respectively, from Indiana University, and a Master of Arts in Catholic life and thought from St. Meinrad School of Theology. In addition, Volpatti is a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana.

Volpatti serves on the board of directors of the Central Association of College and University Business Officers and is an active member of the Indiana CPA Society. He is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society.
