SUPPORTING OUR STUDENTS

We Are Here to Help

We know that sometimes students experience challenges that affect their ability to be successful at Valparaiso University. Completing the I Need Help form makes requesting help with an issue or concern easy, especially if you don’t know which office or department to contact.

Who can use you submit the “I Need Help” Form?

  • Any Valpo student concerned about their safety or well-being or the safety or well-being of another student can submit the I Need Help form.
  • If you are a faculty or staff member looking to submit a concern about a student, please visit the Care and Concerns webpage.

  • Academic or administrative issues (advising, attendance, grades, financial aid concerns, changing your major)
  • Personal issues (family or relationship conflict, friendship challenges, adjustment to Valpo)
  • Spiritual support: Have a confidential conversation with one of the University Pastors.
  • Health or wellness issues (absence notices, mental health concerns, substance abuse issues)
  • Behavioral issues (sudden behavior change, conduct policy violations)
  • Getting connected to existing support resources on campus

The Hardship Fund exists to provide low-income undergraduate students with financial assistance when faced with an unexpected and urgent situation that distracts them from their academic endeavors at Valpo. This fund is specifically for non-academic costs that still impact a student’s experience at Valpo.

The hardship fund also has loaner laptops available for students without a working laptop for a temporary time period.

To apply fill out this form. The Hardship Fund Committee reviews applications on a weekly basis with funds typically available within 14 days of approval.
