Undergraduate Writing Consultants
Brooke F. Brooke is a Junior Chemistry major from Crown Point, IN. She enjoys working in the Writing Center because it uses a different part of her brain than her science courses, and she finds writing calming. Outside of school, she loves to hike, volunteer in her children’s ministry, and read. She looks forward to getting to know all the clients coming into the writing center this year!
Chloee M. Chloee is a Senior, Criminology and Psychology Double Major with a Minor in Social Work. This is her second year in the writing center. She enjoys working on thesis-driven writing assignments such as argumentative papers and research papers. She also has a lot of experience working with APA and MLA formatting. Chloee is available to offer assistance at any stage in the writing process and hopes to work with you soon on strengthening your writing skills.
Damon V. This is Damon Virgo’s first semester as a Writing Center Consultant! Damon is a sophomore Chemistry major who is from Valparaiso. Damon is a passionate chemistry major who’s always chasing that ‘Chemical Romance’ with the periodic table. When Damon’s not bonding with his textbooks, you can find him in the lab, making reactions sizzle and his heart race. Duaa B. This is Duaa Buarish’s 2nd year here at Valpo. Duaa is an international student all the way from Saudi Arabia! Duaa speaks two languages, Arabic and English. She is majoring in Nursing. Duaa is very excited to help clients with their essays from helping start it out, edit it as well as finanlize it. In Duaa’s free time, she likes to hang out with friends and watch movies/tv shows. She cannot wait to help you with all your writing needs!
Emily F. Emily is a senior Psychology and Environmental Science major. This is her second semester as a Writing Center Consultant! She is from Brownsburg, Indiana, and enjoys watching movies with friends, creative writing, and singing. Emily is a member of Christ College and enjoys serving on her church’s prayer team. She looks forward to meeting with everyone and collaborating on writing pieces!
Emily N. Emily is a Junior physics major from Chicago, IL. This is her second year working in the Writing Center. She has a love for coffee, writing, music, and all things science! When not in classes or studying, Emily likes to play games with friends or catch up on a good TV show and embroider. She is very excited to help you all with your writing needs, at any stage of the writing process!
Grace A. Grace is a senior English and Political Science major, and this is her first year as a Writing Center Consultant! Grace is a member of Christ College, serves as News Editor for The Torch, and is on Valpo’s cross country and track teams. In her free time, she enjoys reading, collecting Squishmallows, and frequenting coffee shops. Grace has written too many papers to count, so she is excited to help with everything writing-related!
Harley T. Harley is a Sophomore Creative Writing major with a passion for English. This is her first semester working in the writing center and she seeks to help students grow as writers while improving her own editorial skills. She’s currently the treasurer of the Rollin’ with RPGs club on campus as well as a member of Alliance. In her free time, you can catch her reading, writing, watching anime, gaming, or planning out the adventure for her next campaign! Harley is also the proud parent of two dogs: a chihuahua named Ambrosius and a miniature dachshund named Akasha.
Jasmine C. Jasmine Collins is a Junior Music and English Double Major with a Minor in Education and she is from Pottstown, Pennsylvania. This is her first semester as a Writing Center consultant and the genres that she enjoys reading and working with the most are creative writing assignments and history research papers. Outside of the Writing Center, Jasmine is the Vice President-Ritual and Editor for Sigma Alpha Iota, a women’s music fraternity, and a member of of Kantorei, Valparaiso University’s chapel choir. She cannot wait to help you achieve your writing goals this semester!
Julia M This is Julia Muskat’s 2nd year as a Writing Center Consultant! Julia is a 3rd year Health Science student in the VU PA program! Aside from working in the Writing Center, Julia enjoys being the President of Swim Club, watching shows like Friends, and meeting friends for coffee! She feels enthusiatic about helping writing center clients with paper formatting, organizing, and structure. From helping brainstorm ideas to putting the final touches on formatting, Julia is excited to help anyone with their writing needs!
Morgan K. This is Morgan’s 2nd year as a Writing Center Consultant, she is a junior with a major in Accounting and a minor in Communication here at Valpo! She is currently a member of Valpo Alliance and is an RA, and when she’s not in class or the Writing Center, she enjoys reading, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and having movie nights with her friends. She loves the prewriting process of outlining and brainstorming new ideas. Whether you need help with analyzing prompts, putting the finishing touches on assignments, or anything and everything in between, Morgan is more than happy to work with you!
Sam B. This is Sam Burton’s 2nd semester as a Writing Center Consultant! Sam is a second semester graduate student in the English Studies and Communication program. He is glad to help with devising solid theses, restructuring argumentative essays, and generally assisting writing center clients to do their best. Besides writing and editing, Sam enjoys playing video games, streaming on Netflix, reading scifi/fantasy books, and hanging out with his friends. Whatever your writing needs, Sam will do his best to help and work with you!
Sarah W. Sarah is a Junior Nursing student with a minor in Spanish. She is from Elmhurst Illinois. When she is not at the Writing Center or classes, she loves watching New Girl or hanging out with friends. She also has a love for coffee, running, badminton, and music. This is her second year at the writing center. She is very excited to help you all with your writing needs, at any stage of the writing process!
Zoey P. Zoey is a sophomore English major from La Porte, IN. This will be her first semester working in the Writing Center. In her free time, she enjoys horror films, listening to Elliott Smith, and watching the Simpsons. You might see her out on a late night campus walk! Zoey also collects a lot of Hello Kitty when her bank can bare it and flaunt it all over her room. She is very thrilled to meet and help everyone with their writing needs!
