Undergraduate Writing Consultants
Maddie is a senior English and Political Science double-major with a Business minor. As an English major and Christ College student, they have a lot of experience with various forms of analytical, argumentative, and research-based papers. They have also taken some creative writing courses, so they’d be happy to help in that arena as well. They are proficient in MLA, APA, and Chicago citation styles, so they’d be happy to help with any of those.
Daniel is a senior Computer Engineering major with a minor in Mathematics. He is going into his third year consulting for the Writing Center and has a great deal of experience working on technical, research, and analytical papers. He is also very familiar with MLA, APA, and IEEE citation styles. He hopes to see you all soon!
Ellie is a senior German and International Economics and Cultural Affairs major with a minor in Humanities. Her time abroad has provided her with a wide variety of writing experiences, including how to adjust a piece of writing to suit its intended audience. She is in Christ College and loves brainstorming, editing, and organizing/restructuring papers. She is well versed in constructing argumentative and research-based essays, but she is eager and willing to help you develop and improve any type of writing you’re working on! She would love to see you at the writing center/online to help you create your next masterpiece!
Lee Sanchez is a senior Psychology and Professional Writing major with a Spanish minor. They are also the 2021-2022 Editor-in-Chief of The Lighter, Valpo’s student-run literary arts magazine. While they love writing of all types, their main passion is poetry.
Maddison is a third-year student in the 5-year Physician Assistant program. She is also a member of the women’s golf team. This is her second year working as an undergraduate consultant in the writing center. Maddison has experience in many areas of writing but is most familiar with research papers and thesis-driven analysis. She is looking forward to working with you in all areas of the writing process. Whether it is brainstorming, organizing your thoughts, or putting the finishing touches on your paper, she can’t wait to help you succeed! Tyla is a junior Political Science major and Sociology minor and a second-year writing consultant. She enjoys narrative and persuasive writing and has experience writing concept explanation essays as well as research papers. Additionally, she enjoys the processes of brainstorming and organizing, but of course, will do her best to help in any way possible! She can’t wait to see you soon!
This is Ameena Madani. Her pronouns are she/her/hers and she is a second-year Health Science major in the Five-Year Physicians Associate Program. She is a member of the Honor Council at Valpo, and she also worked at the Writing Center over the summer. She has experience in many different areas of writing but has the most experience with thesis-driven essays and analysis/research-based papers. She is more than happy to help with anything you need whether it be brainstorming ideas for a paper or brushing up a final draft. Nathan (he/him) is a sophomore Communications major and History minor. With a journalism focus, he is involved in all of the media organizations on campus and is a member of UPC. He is most experienced with research papers and thesis-driven essays in MLA style but is happy to work with you towards your individualized goals. Whether you want to brainstorm ideas, polish a final draft or geek out about The Beatles, Nathan is happy to help!
