Undergraduate Writing Consultants

Ameena M. This is Ameena Madani. Her pronouns are she/her/hers and she is a second-year Health Science major in the Five-Year Physicians Associate Program. She is a member of the Honor Council at Valpo, and she also worked at the Writing Center over the summer. She has experience in many different areas of writing but has the most experience with thesis-driven essays and analysis/research-based papers. She also has spoken proficiency in Urdu. She is more than happy to help with anything you need whether it be brainstorming ideas for a paper or brushing up a final draft. Ameena can’t wait to work with you all, and she hopes to see you at the Writing Center soon (in-person or online)!

Annie L. Annie is a sophomore Public & Professional Writing major with a minor in French. In addition to being a Writing Center consultant on campus, she is also the 2022-’23 Assistant News Editor for The Torch and a writer for the English Department newsletter, The Lodestar. This past summer, she worked as a Writing Center consultant here with the Summer Bloom program during their pilot year at Valpo. Overall, she enjoys helping students with any aspect of the writing process, and is excited for her first full year working in the Writing Center.

Chloee M. Chloee is a junior, criminology and psychology double major with a minor in social work. This is her first year working as an undergraduate consultant. She enjoys working on thesis-driven writing assignments such as argumentative papers and research papers. She also has a lot of experience working with APA and MLA formatting. Chloee is available to offer assistance at any stage in the writing process and hopes to work with you soon on strengthening your writing skills.

Daniel O. Daniel is a senior Environmental Engineering major in Christ College (CC). Being a STEM major and CC scholar, he is well-versed in a variety of technical and argument-driven writing projects. He also is familiar with several creative writing disciplines and will be happy to help with any kind of questions or assignments you may have!

Emily F. Emily is a Junior Psychology and Environmental Science Major. Her pronouns are she/her/hers. She is a Christ College student, and loves writing and debating about philosophical topics and texts. Her favorite type of writing is creative writing, especially short stories and poetry. She also has experience with constructing and analyzing research papers and essays, and she can assist with brainstorming ideas and organizing/structuring papers. She is happy to help with any of your needs, and looks forward to seeing some of you in the writing center!

Emily N. Emily N. is a sophomore Physics major with a minor in Mathematics. She has experience in many different areas of writing, but is most familiar with research papers and thesis-driven analysis. Despite this, she really enjoys reading short stories and other creative writing projects. She can’t wait to see you in the Writing Center (in-person or online) soon to help you at any stage of the writing process!

Evan S Evan is a senior Civil Engineering major with a Theology minor. He also has experience with media organizations, event planning, and peer tutoring. Unfortunately for his time management skills, he is also passionately consumed with everything in between, and he may be dangerously interested in your paper as well. Because his classes require less writing than he’d like, he enjoys working with clients from any discipline on any papers and projects they might be assigned.

Julia M

Julia M Julia is a second-year health science major in the Physician’s Assistant program here at Valpo! She grew up outside Indianapolis in Plainfield, IN, and has enjoyed writing for several years. Her special skills are helping with organization, idea generation, and writing technique development. Julia enjoys helping excellent papers emerge from great ideas. She is excited to help clients become better brainstormers and writers during her first year in the writing center. Julia is well-versed in rhetorical analysis and research papers, but is looking forward to helping with any type of assignment!
