Have questions about your financial aid?

Whether you’re newly admitted or already enrolled, we’re here to help. Schedule a one-on-one appointment with a financial aid advisor — choose a Zoom call, Google Chat, phone conversation, or meet with us in person. You can even book time for FAFSA assistance. Appointments are available during regular business hours.

If you are an admitted or current student, you can book a financial aid appointment hereThis allows for you to choose a zoom, google chat, phone call or in-person meeting. You can also schedule an in-person meeting to assist with filing the FAFSA. All meetings are during regular business hours.

Office of Financial Aid

No appointments necessary.  If you are not able to visit our office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a weekday you may call us at 219.464.5015. Most questions and concerns can be addressed in a phone conversation with one of our staff if you are able to call between these hours.

  • After hours, our  number has a voice mail option to allow you to leave a message at any time day or night.  Follow the voice mail prompt and press 1 to leave a message with your student ID and the best phone number and time you can be reached, or;
  • Send an email to  if you have more detailed questions and receive a reply within 24 hours, excluding weekend, or;
  • Fax us at 219.464.5012, and;
  • If needed, it may also be possible to arrange an appointment for after hours, given some advance notice. You should email the Office of Financial Aid with your request and provide a brief statement about your concerns and/or questions. A response will be sent within  24 hours about the possibility of an appointment.

Valparaiso University Code of Conduct

In order to comply with Part G, Section 493 (e) of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), Valparaiso University has drafted the following Code of Conduct to be adhered to by its officers, employees, and agents who have any responsibilities in the area of education loans.

Valparaiso University shall not enter into any revenue-sharing arrangement with any lender.

Employees in the Valparaiso University Office of Financial Aid as well as any other employees with education loan responsibilities shall not accept from any lender or affiliate of any lender any fee, payment, or other financial benefit (including the opportunity to purchase stock) as compensation for any type of consulting arrangement or other contract to provide services to a lender or on behalf of a lender relating to education loans.

The Valparaiso University Office of Financial Aid shall not refuse to certify, or delay certification of, any loan based on the borrower’s selection of a particular lender.

Valparaiso University shall not request or accept from any lender any offer of funds to be used for private education loans (as defined in section 140 of the Truth in Lending Act), including funds for an opportunity loan pool, in exchange for a promise of providing the lender with a specified loan volume or a preferred lender arrangement.

Valparaiso University shall not request or accept from any lender any assistance with call center staffing or financial aid office staffing.

Employees in the Valparaiso University Office of Financial Aid as well as any other employees with education loan responsibilities who may be asked to serve on an advisory board, commission, or group established by a lender, guarantor, or group of lenders or guarantors shall be prohibited from receiving anything of value from the previously listed outside entities except that the employee may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in serving on such advisory board, commission or group.
