Student Organizations: ACM & ACM-W

  • The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society. It delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. It serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources. [from http://acm.org]
  • ACM-Women supports, celebrates, and advocates internationally for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the larger community to advance the contributions of technical women.  [from http://women.acm.org]

These student organizations partner with Valpo’s student chapter of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), hosted and supported by the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, and other groups across campus for a variety of projects.
