Personalized Music Instruction with Expert Faculty

Valpo’s studio lessons offer music students individualized instruction with expert faculty across a wide range of instruments and voice. Whether you’re a major, minor, or simply passionate about music, you’ll receive weekly private lessons designed to sharpen your skills and expand your artistry. Lessons are paired with a required colloquium to foster community and professional growth.

Music Colloquium

Studio instruction is supplemented with a required performance colloquium, which meets for one 50-minute period per week (MUS 499, 0 credits). The colloquium is required for music majors; non-majors enrolled in studio instruction are welcome to participate in the colloquium and are urged to do so.

Policies and Requirements for Studio Lessons
