Guest Speaker: Dr. Amber Russell

Dr. Amber Russell, Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Butler University, will give a talk in the Mathematics and Statistics department colloquium on Friday, September 2.

Colloquium meets at 3:30 p.m. in GEM 120.  All are welcome, whether you’re registered for colloquium or not.

Title: Origami and Binary Decimal Expansions

Abstract: Have you always been intrigued by origami but wished there was more Mathematics involved? Me too! For this talk, we’ll look at how to apply Fujimoto’s paper folding techniques to calculate base 2 decimals. Paper will be provided.
