Navigating the world of nutrition can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Our Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RDN) offers one-on-one counseling, education, and support to help you make sustainable, healthy choices. Whether you’re aiming to improve your eating habits, manage a health condition, or simply feel better day-to-day, we’re here to guide you. Appointments are now open to all students.

Nutrition Services at The Health Center

The Medical Nutrition Therapy service includes a consultation with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to provide a supportive and realistic approach to nutrition and health. The RDN provides knowledge and practical skills according to each client’s individual needs and preferences to help them reach their health and wellness goals.

  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
  • Celiac Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Digestive Issues
  • Food Intolerances and Allergies
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Nutritional Deficiencies
  • Overweight/Obesity

The Nutrition Counseling/Coaching service consists of the RDN offering clients support, encouragement and guidance in reaching general healthy eating and wellness goals. The RDN will help you break down your nutrition goal into manageable steps and offer ongoing support and accountability.

  • Meal planning, shopping, and cooking
  • Sports and performance nutrition
    • The Registered Dietitian provides presentations to teams about general healthy eating guidelines, weight management, nutrition needs for sports performance, meal planning and timing, recovery nutrition, and hydration. 
  • Specialized diets (Low-Carb, Vegetarian, Vegan, etc.)
  • Weight management

Please note this service does not include Medical Nutrition Therapy. If you have nutrition-related health issues such as diabetes, digestive diseases, major food allergies, eating disorders, etc., please refer to the Medical Nutrition Therapy services above.

Insurance is accepted and will be filed by the Health Center.
If your insurance does not cover nutrition therapy, a cash payment option is available:
Initial Assessment (60 minutes) — $75
Follow-up Session (30 minutes) — $45

Groups up to 30 attendees: $250
Additional attendees above 30: $5 per person

Nutrition & Wellness Presentations
The Registered Dietitian is available to speak to groups about general healthy eating guidelines, meal planning and cooking, and healthy eating behaviors.  Other topics may be available upon request. Presentations are one hour.

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) — $20
An overall assessment of electrolytes, liver and kidney function, blood sugar and protein status.

Complete Blood Count (CBC) — $15
A detailed assessment of the health of blood cells, their ability to carry oxygen and fight infection, and to diagnose anemia.

Nutrient Deficiencies:
Vitamin D — $59
Vitamin B12 — $22
Ferritin (Iron) — $29
Sports Nutrition Panel — $145
(includes: CMP, CBC, Vitamin D, Ferritin (Iron), Vitamin B12)

*Labs ordered if deemed necessary after a visit with a provider (e.g. physician, nurse practitioner)

*Insurance is accepted and will be filed by the Health Center (coverage cannot be guaranteed).

Registered Dietitian | 

Karen Wagner is a Registered, Licensed Dietitian with 25+ years of experience. Her energetic and compassionate approach, combined with her background as a Division 1 student-athlete, team captain, and honor student, enables her to connect uniquely with college students.  

Karen has extensive experience working with athletes to enhance performance, as well as with weight-conscious clients and those with clinical issues such as disordered eating, hypertension, autoimmune conditions, and endocrine disorders.

She is eager to share the power of personalized nutrition strategies to help you thrive and feel your best!
