Patrol Unit

The Patrol Unit is the backbone of the department and the most visible to the Valparaiso University community. They’re the first responders to all emergencies and calls for service. Besides being academy certified, the officers continually train on new police techniques and all hazard active threats. Each police officer is a member of the VU Police Emergency Response and Incident Management Teams. They perform their patrol duties by vehicle, bike, ATV and foot patrol. VU police officers are approachable and helpful. Feel free to speak with them about police or non-police matters at any time.
