Erin oversees all Study Abroad operations and also serves as primary advisor for the Valpo Study Centers in Cambridge, UK, Reutlingen, Germany and San Jose, Costa Rica, exchange and some partner programs. Additionally, she provides support for spring break and summer faculty-led programs. Prior to Valpo, she worked at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Center for International Education as their Study Abroad financial specialist. She worked primarily with day-to-day financial matters, but also helped guide students looking for funding for their study abroad programs and collaborated with the Financial Aid Office. She has a B.A. in German from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and an M.A. in languages, literature, and translation with an emphasis in German from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester abroad at the University of Kassel in Germany.

 

Cherelle Dunn, Study Abroad Advisor

Cherelle is the Study Abroad Advisor for the Valpo Study Center program in Hangzhou, China and the semester programs in Granada, Spain and Zaragoza, Spain. She also oversees day-to-day office operations and supervises the study abroad student staff. Prior to working at Valpo, Cherelle did a one-year internship in Wuhu, China as a Business English teacher and advisor to businessmen/women aspiring to go abroad for business trips. During her time there, she did event planning for English intercultural immersion workshops for clients which she mentored and prepared for success and intensive learning. She has a B.A. in Spanish Studies and Chinese Linguistics from Ball State University and an M.A. in Mandarin Chinese Applied Linguistics from Harbin Normal University in Harbin, China, which was a four-year program. During her period as an undergrad, Cherelle spent Spring break in China for a faculty led language and cultural immersion program and went on an exchange program through Ball State and the Kentucky Institute for International Studies for a summer semester in Segovia, Spain studying Spanish linguistics, phonetics and the history of Spain.
