Creative Laboratory

The center for the arts functions as a working laboratory for artistic expression. The facility offers a wide range of opportunities for students in music and theatre, including performance, technical operations, recording, set construction, and more. The center for the arts is also home to the ceramic studio, a graphic design computer lab, digital photo and video facilities, color and black-and-white photo labs, and other resources.

The Brauer Museum of Art, located inside the center for the arts, regularly shows works by art students and faculty. Students interested in museum studies and arts management also benefit from hands-on opportunities at the Museum.

Artistic Community

The opening of the Center for the Arts in 1995 brought the departments of art, music, and theatre together under one roof for the first time in the University’s history. These departments share a commitment to a comprehensive, coherent, and ambitious visual and performing arts program, and the center for the arts fosters a spirit of collaboration and energy in achieving this goal.

The Guild Lobby in the Center for the Arts also functions as campus meeting space, and can be reserved for dinners and programs. To reserve space, contact Angie Taylor at .
