Biography

Professor Schemmel is a professional civil engineer with interests in construction materials, standards development, as well as structural analysis and design. His research and writing has focused primarily on concrete and related products. He is active in the American Concrete Institute (ACI), and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Professor Schemmel is a Fellow of ACI and recipient of the ACI Certification Award. He serves on the Executive Sub-committee for ASTM C09 -Concrete and Aggregates. While at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Schemmel founded eTEC LLC (Engineering Training and Education Consultants). eTEC develops computer based training for individuals who work in the construction industry.
