About
Aimee Tomasek made her first photographic essay as a 4-H project and won a blue ribbon. This achievement was the start of a lifetime of picture-making. Tomasek is a documentary photographer and educator. Her photographs address the social and cultural relationships between industry and regionalism, along with more personal institutions such as faith, ethnic foundations, and a sense of community.
Aimee teaches introductory and advanced-level photography courses for Communication and Visual Art majors and minors, as well as general education students. She developed and teaches a Writing in the Discipline course for CVA and Music majors, focusing on experiential projects. Aimee also teaches in the VUE program for freshmen.
Aimee has exhibited her work regionally, nationally, and internationally. She has spent most of her life teaching students how photographs are made, seen, and valued.
