I began working for the MACS program in September 2005 as the Program Coordinator and helped successfully recruit and launch the first year of the program with five students. Since that first year, I have continued to work closely with both the full-time track and the K-12 Teacher Track of the MACS program. In December 2006, I completed my Master of Arts Liberal Studies degree in History and began working full time as the Coordinator of Recruitment Activities at VU's Graduate School while still working closely with the MACS program to ensure its continued success at Valparaiso University as well as the Summer Advanced Chinese Program from 2006 on. In 2006, 2007, 2008 (a four-year grant cycle), I worked with the MACS Program Director and Graduate School Dean to successfully apply for several Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad grants to subsidize the Summer Advanced Chinese Program (totaling more than $500,000 in financial subsidies). Since my two children were born in 2009 and 2011, I now work part time with the MACS Program Director to coordinate the K-12 Teacher Track of the MACS program and the 2013 Summer Advanced Chinese Program while also pursuing a Master of Science in Student Affairs degree at Indiana State University.
